JP grew up with a love for horses and at around age 9 started a paper route to pay for riding lessons. By age 11 he was working at the stables all weekend so that he could pay to ride even more. Those early mornings and long days working at the stable are where he learned his strong work ethic. Horses have remained a part of his life ever since.
By the time he was a young man, he recognized that the lifestyle he envisioned with horses would require some sort of pursuit in business as well. After being part of a couple of different business ventures and also trying his hand at playing in a band, he decided to pursue investment real estate.
JP has been a licensed Realtor for 15 years. Not only has he built his own investment property portfolio, but he has also sold between $200 to $300 Million in investment Real Estate – helping hundreds of investors build portfolios of their own. It was important for him to help people see that, with just a little bit of hard work, investing in real estate can open up different opportunities and offer choices they may not have had otherwise.
For about 12 years now, JP has enjoyed exploring the Rocky Mountain West in Canada and US during his downtime. Taking the time to discover the back-country, small towns, mountain properties and ranches throughout the Rocky Mountain West sparked a whole new interest and vision that led to his focus on Western Rural and Mountain Real Estate. With his partner Aimee Wesson (also a Realtor) they decided to start a separate branch of their business focusing on Rural Properties, Acreages, Country Estates, and Horse Farms. Whether it is helping buyer clients purchase their dream property, or guiding seller clients through bringing their property to market, JP has a real passion for this type of real estate and enjoys getting out there and being “boots on the ground”
Being allergic to starchy corporate environments made Grassroots Realty a natural fit for JP. The freedom to build a business that he envisions, coupled with Grassroots Realty’s modern, tech-focused, boutique-style approach was a no-brainer for him.
