I’m originally from North Bay, Ontario. I moved to Alberta on October 31, 1999 to work at Chateau Lake Louise. I moved to Edmonton on November 1, 2006 and have lived in Leduc since July 2007. I met my wife at a Leafs/Oilers game in early 2006. I worked for Hotel Brands (Fairmont Hotels & Delta Hotels) in various roles from 1999 to 2013. In September 2013, I went to work for Cenovus Energy in the Camps Division until July 2, 2022. I am married to my wife, Jennifer. We’ve been married for 16 years. We have 3 boys, Kyle, Drew & Will who are 16, 12 & 11. We also have a little Double Doodle named Goldie that rules our household.
During Covid, Marko asked me if I wanted to get into Real Estate. Since I was on a 7 & 7 rotation and pretty bored most of the time because my wife was working and my boys were at school, I decided to try it out and get my license as a side hustle/time occupier to help out Marko. I guess we got successful enough for me to quit my Oil & Gas job back in July 2022. I’ve now been a full-time Realtor for 19 months.
I felt a connection to the Grassroots Realty brand because of it being Alberta based. The logo really spoke to me as well because of my life experiences in the mountains, my time in the oil patch and marrying an Alberta girl from Barrhead. The smaller feel of a Brokerage was important to me in my decision to join Grassroots. We also felt a great connection to Alanna Dawley who already works the Leduc Marketplace and see a lot of opportunity to collaborate with Alanna on business and community events.
